At the end, Liu Shiwen sealed her third World Cup title.

Meanwhile, the reigning champion Liu Shiwen will have a chance to defend her title after winning over Jiang Huajun.

    The quarterfinal round of the Women's World Cup was ushered by Japanese players, Kasumi Ishikawa and Ai Fukuhara consecutively fighting for their place in the semifinals. For the first match, Ishikawa actually had the opportunities against Feng Tianwei but in the most critical moment, it was the more experienced player from Singapore who won. After which, Ai Fukuhara played against the defensive player Wu Yang. Unfortunately for Japan. Fukuhara was not able to progress further.

Therefore, at this point, gold and silver go to China.

Meanwhile, the round did not went by without a casualty as the Singaporean second seed Feng Tianwei was overcome by the Japanese Kasumi Ishikawa. In addition, the rookie who beat Zhang Jike, Chen Chien An was defeated by Noshad Alamiyan.

    One of the defensive players in the Chinese Women's Team, Wu Yang was the third player to have gotten through the 2013 World Championships Squad Trials after she defeated the dark horse Hu Limei in 4-0. After the match, Wu Yang admitted that she herself was surprised with her victory and that her patience and better offensive skills were the main reason for her win. Lastly, Wu Yang revealed that she hopes to win a medal in the upcoming World Championships in Paris.

    Liu Shiwen got the Gold medal in the 2012 Asian Table Tennis Cup Women Singles against compatriot Wu Yang. At the start of the round, Liu Shiwen was in total control over the table while Wu Yang wasn't able to have the right answers to the powerful forehand topspins from Liu Shiwen. In the third set, Wu Yang tried to break the momentum from Liu Shiwen. However, at the end of four sets, Wu Yang failed as Liu Shiwen sealed the championship title of the Women Singles.

In the round, Liu Shiwen imposed authority over Dang Ye Seo and surpassed the hurdle in just four sets. Meanwhile against Li Jiawei, Wu Yang had the right techniques in the match with her combination of stable defense and superb attacking skills. Eventually, Wu Yang will advance into the finals and already assured a medal in the competition.
