    Xu Xin got the Gold medal in the 2012 Asian Table Tennis Cup Men Singles against Maharu Yoshimura. In the round, the Japanese player presented himself as a strong opponent as he was able to stay close against Xu Xin in terms of the scores. In addition, he also made Xu Xin ran across the arena in some points of the match. However, with his relentless forehand topspins, Xu Xin remained in control over the table and sealed the championship title with a sweep victory.

    Xu Xin will be in the finals of the 2012 Asian Table Tennis Cup Men Singles after surviving the penultimate stage this evening in Guangzhou. In the round, against Hong Kong's Jiang Tianyi, Xu Xin was in good control over the table and finished the match in five sets. Meanwhile, the Japanese Maharu Yoshimura survived a challenging battle against the man in form from Iran, Noshad Alamiyan. Yoshimura won the hurdle in seven sets and will face Xu Xin in the finals.

    The 25th Asian Table Tennis Cup continued with the competition today with the quarterfinal round of the Men Division. After Wang Liqin lost to Noshad Alamiyan, Xu Xin now holds the sole responsibility to defend the championship title for China. Xu Xin continues to be strong with another sweep win. In addition, Jiang Tianyi and Maharu Yoshimura also posted quarterfinal success.
