    Jun Mizutani was crowned champion at the 2016 Polish Open. The Japanese star emerged successfully over Dimitrij Ovtcharov in the final match. Japan also succeeded in men's doubles. Masataka Morizono and Yuya Oshima stood victorious over their teammates Koki Niwa and Maharu Yoshimura. In U21 men's singles the winner was Denmark's Wang Zhixu.

    The transfer market is moving in the Russian Premier League. Dimitrij Ovtcharov announced on his facebook fan page that Jun Mizutani signed in Fakel Gazproma Orenburg for the next season. The Japanese player will end the season with his current club UMMC.

Alexander Shiabev led the Russian club to victory over Weinviertel Niederösterreich and UMMC is the leader in the group B. Olimpia Unia Grudziadz also emerged successfully in the 5th round. The team led by Kaii Yoshida overcame Hennebont of Kalinikos Kreanga.

    As 2015 is winding up, ITTF released their shortlist for the annual Star Awards Night to be held during the Grand Finals next month in Portugal. In the male category, Fan Zhendong, Jun Mizutani, Dimitrij Ovtcharov and Ma Long were the nominees, while Ding Ning, Liu Shiwen, Kasumi Ishikawa and Petrissa Solja are the nominees for the women’s division.

    The top seed was not spared in this week’s competition in Incheon after Jun Mizutani was eliminated in the opening round of the main draw. He was defeated by the South Korean qualifier Jang Woojin who later this day overcame Par Gerell for a seat in the quarterfinals. Aside from him, more South Korean players also posted victory today.

In the Men’s Singles, the biggest upset was recorded in the second round after the top seed and World Champion Ma Long was ousted by a qualifier and teammate Shang Kun. Meanwhile, Japan also suffered some casualties as Jun Mizutani among others failed to love another day in the tournament.
