    Chuang Chih-Yuan is the 2016 Hungarian Open's champion. The Taiwanese player showed no mercy to his teammate Chen Chien-An in the final and collected the first World Tour's title of 2016. In men's doubles Chuang and Huang Sheng-Sheng captured the title. In U21 men's singles Lim Jonghoon of South Korea was crowned champion.

In the upper half of the draw, Chuang Chih Yuan had his smart play overcoming his younger teammate Chen Chien An for the other seat in the finals.

In the opening round of the main draw today, he was not able to overcome the qualifier from the Japanese Team, Masato Shiono. Moreover, the leader of Chinese Taipei was not the only upset recorded in the round.

Chuang Chih-Yuan and Wang Liqin are the top seeds in the men's competitions, while Kasumi Ishikawa and Ai Fukuhara are the favorites in the women's event. Unfortunately, the Chinese team won't be in the compettition.
