Doo Hoi Kem No Expectations In The Olympic Qualifier

The Asian Olympic Qualifier was an exciting game which was filled with surprises. One of the players who caused a sensation in the competition was the 20-year old Doo Hoi Kem of Hong Kong. As a host, she was able to do something that was difficult and that was to win against a Chinese player, a top Chinese player. 

Sina Sports. Doo Hoi Kem caused a sensation last week in the Asian Olympic Qualifier. She admitted that she never thought about the result. 

“I never thought of winning because in the past I have never won against a Chinese player. Every time the score is 0-4, the most is that I would win one set.” Doo Hoi Kem started. 

Last week, in the Asian Olympic Qualifier, Doo Hoi Kem caused a stir not just in the competition but in the Chinese Team as well after she eliminated the top seed Liu Shiwen. That was the opening match of the Chinese player. 

“So the coach especially gave me a lecture before the game. He told me to at least release my fighting spirit so that I would play better and better and treat each match as if it was my last. In addition, the competition was in Hong Kong so I really wanted to play well.” She added. 

Doo Hoi Kem is currently 20 years old and has been playing table tennis for 13 years. She admits that she really loves table tennis. 

“I started learning how to play table tennis at the age of seven. My older brother was the first to learn. I then followed him from picking the balls to training. I became a full-time athlete at the age of 15. I especially like table tennis. It makes me especially happy and can also make me especially sad. Its only table tennis that can give me those important feelings.” Doo Hoi Kem said.
