Japan Took Revenge Against Germany In The World Championships (Videos)

The Japanese Team was one of the highlights of the quarterfinal round of the women’s team event in the World Team Championships. That is after they were able to redeem themselves against Germany. On the other hand, it was a painful defeat for Singapore and Hong Kong. Singapore was defeated by North Korea while Chinese Taipei eliminated Hong Kong.

ITTF. The Women’s Team event of the World Team Championships continued their quarterfinals today. Japan, North Korea and Chinese Taipei all posted victory. 

Japan got the spotlight in the quarterfinal round after they redeemed themselves against Germany. In the fifth round of the group stage, Germany defeated Japan. In the knockout stage, Japan came prepared. Mima Ito, Kasumi Ishikawa and Ai Fukuhara completed a sweep win. 

Meanwhile, Singapore is already eliminated from the competition. They were defeated by North Korea in 3-2. Feng Tianwei won two points against Kim Song I and Ri Myong Sun. However, Yu Mengyu lost in the decider against Kim Song I. 

Another close encounter took place and it was between Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong. In the match, the veteran Tie Yana was not able to defend her team, losing to Cheng I Ching and Chen Szu Yu in the decider. 

The Chinese Team had their quarterfinals yesterday and fought against Netherlands. The powerful Liu Shiwen, Li Xiaoxia and Ding Ning completed a sweep victory but each match showed that it was difficult. All of their players posted defeats in some sets. 

According to Kong Linghui, their players played a little tight and felt the pressure.
