Germany eliminated from the World Team Championships (VIDEOS)

Germany has no chances to repeat the final against China. The German team was eliminated from the 2016 World Team Championships in the group phase. Germany scored the same number of victories as Sweden and England but these countries managed to reach the main draw eventually.

Germany won against Sweden by 3-2 today but it wasn't enough to book a place in the main draw of the 2016 World Team Championships. The defeats against France and England left the German team in the fourth place of the group B. France overcame Denmark by 3-0 today and got the first place. Sweden and England got the second and third place, respectively.

In the group A China swept with its rivals as expected. The second place went surprisingly to North Korea that was the last seed in the group but it is known that its low ranking is because of its absence in ITTF competitions. Austria is the third qualifier to the main draw.

In the group C Japan remained unbeaten and got the first place. Today the Japanese team defeated Portugal by 3-1. Joao Monteiro caused upset with his victory over Jun Mizutani by 3-2. But Poland got the second place and the former European champions ended up in the third place after losing to Poland yesterday. Surprisingly Singapore ended up in the 6th place.

In the group D South Korea won all its matches. In the last round Joo Saehyuk & Co. posted a 3-1 victory over Hong Kong that got the second place. Croatia defeated Russia by 3-2 in the last match and also reached the main draw.
