Sina Sports. The German Open ended yesterday with Kasumi Ishikawa reaching the finals but she only settled as the runner-up after losing to Wu Yang.
The Japanese players Ai Fukuhara and Kasumi Ishikawa were the top seeds in the Women’s Singles of the recently concluded German Open. Unfortunately for the team, both their players were defeated by the Chinese defensive player Wu Yang.
In the quarterfinals, Wu Yang swept Ai Fukuhara in 11-4, 11-8, 11-4, 14-12.
Wu Yang proceeded to the finals and faced the other Japanese seed, Kasumi Ishikawa. Once again, Wu Yang sealed a convincing performance defeating her opponent in 11-5, 11-7, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7.

After the competition, some Japanese fans commended the performance of their local players but compared to the Chinese Team, they are still far.
“As expected, China is too strong.”
“Whether Ishikawa or Fukuhara, their strength is not so consistent with their rankings. However, I’m still hoping that they can lessen the gap. I hope that they can win a medal in the Olympic Team and Singles.”
