ITTF. United States dominated the 2015 North American Championships held at home from 5 to 7 September. Lily Zhang and Timohty Wang were crowned champions in Westchester.
Lily Zhang overcame Canada's Mo Zhang in the final. She was losing 8-11, 5-11, 7-11, but managed to turn the match round. Then Zhang secured her victory by 10-12, 11-5, 11-4 and 11-8. In semifinals the American player beat her teammate Crystal Wang by 11-5, 11-6, 8-11, 11-2, 7-11 and 11-7. To reach the final, the Canadian player defeated USA's Jha Prachi by 8-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-8, 11-5 and 11-7.
In the men's event Timothy Wang clinched the title after beating Canada's Luc-Pierre Theriault by 11-7, 12-10, 3-11, 11-9 and 11-6. In semifinals Wang stood victorious over his teammate Jack Wang by 11-8, 11-8, 14-12 and 11-3. The Canadian player eliminated USA's Kanak Jha by 11-3, 9-11, 11-2, 7-11, 12-10 and 11-5 in the second semifinals.
Jimmy Buttler, 2015 North American Cup's winner, suffered defeat at hands of Jack Wang in a nail-biting match. He fell by 12-14, 13-11, 6-11, 9-11, 15-13, 11-9 and 12-10.
In the team events United States also emerged successfully. In the women's event USA beat Canada by 3-1. In the men's final the American team posted a 3-2 victory over Canada. United States claimed the title in the junior boys and girls team as well. In the cadet event Crystal Wang and Jack Wang clinched the titles.
