Brazil ready for Rio 2016 after Olympic Test

Brazil swept the podium at the 2015 Aquece Rio International Tournament, Olympic Test Event, held from 18 to 21 November in Rio de Janeiro. The host nation collected the titles in women's singles, men's and women's teams. Paul Drinkhall captured the title in the singles event. Besides the competition, the tournament was a test to prepare for the 2016 Olympic Games. 

Brazil passed the Olympic Test for Rio 2016. The South American country won the three of the four title in competition. Lin Gui and Paul Drinkhall emerged successfully in the singles event.

Lin Gui, 2015 Latin American champion, defeated her teammate Leticia Nakada by 11-3, 11-5, 11-7 and 11-5 in the final match. Bruna Takahashi, 2015 World Cadet champion, stood victorious over Ligia Silva of Brazil by 11-5, 12-10, 11-9 and 11-7 in the match for the bronze medal. 

In the men's final the English player overcame host nation's Thiago Monteiro by 11-5, 12-10, 11-7 and 11-7. Gaston Alto of Argentina caused upset as he beat Brazil's Cazuo Matsumoto by 11-7, 3-11, 11-8, 11-7, 9-11, 10-12 and 12-10. 

In the team events Brazil captured both titles. In the women's final Brazil B won against Brazil A. Leticia Nakada, Ligia Silva and Jessica Yamada defeated Lin Gui, Caroline Kumahara and Bruna Takahashi by 3-1. 

In the men's final Thiago Monteiro, Cazuo Matsumoto and Eric Jouti beat Brazil B made up of Humberto Manhani, Massao Kohatsu and Jeff Yamada by 3-1. Argentina got the bronze medal as they defeated Manuel Moya, Gustavo Gomez and Sebastian Roman
