Zhu Yuling & Ai Fukuhara Eliminated From The World Cup

Upsets were recorded round after round in this week’s Women’s World Cup. As the quarterfinals took place later this day, two more casualties were posted. The Japanese Team unfortunately lost Ai Fukuhara after losing to the woman in form, Petrissa Solja. Even the Chinese Team also had to bid farewell from one of their players. Zhu Yuling, the second seed, wasn’t able to recover this time and was eliminated by Li Jiao.  

ITTF. The 2015 Women’s World Cup progressed into the quarterfinals today and more upsets were recorded. China and Japan recorded one each. 

Ai Fukuhara and Petrissa Solja were the first players into the arena for the quarterfinal round. Before this match, the German player caused a major upset after she eliminated the fifth seed Feng Tianwei through a powerful sweep. 

In the quarterfinals, she challenged the host after she recovered from a0-3 deficit, then recording a 4-3 victory. Petrissa Solja sealed the match with 8-11, 6-11, 2-11, 14-12, 11-5, 11-8, 11-6. 

The second match was between Kasumi Ishikawa and Liu Jia, who also caused a casualty to the South Korean Team, defeating Seo Hyowon in five sets. This time, Kasumi Ishikawa defended her place really well and scored 4-2 (11-8, 6-11, 5-11, 17-15, 11-3, 11-7). 

The top seed Liu Shiwen was in the third match who fought against Hu Melek. The Chinese player got a 4-1 win (10-12, 11-4, 11-3, 11-1, 11-5). 

The last match for the round was between Zhu Yuling and Li Jiao. Since the previous round, the Chinese player was already having problems but she was still able to recover. However, this time, she completely failed. Zhu Yuling lost in 8-11, 11-9, 9-11, 8-11, 11-2, 10-12.
