Asia will say good bye to the 2014 ITTF World Tour in Tokyo, Japan. The 2014 Japan Open will start on Wednesday and to playes will make their debut on Friday.
Chuang Chih-Yuan and Feng Tianwei are the top seeds, but Japan has its stars to fight for the title. In the men event Jun Mizutani and Koki Niwa are the second and third seeds, respectively, and favorite for the title, of course. But the host nation also has Masato Shiono, the defending champion.
Kenta Matsudaira, Seiya Kishikawa, Taku Takakiwa, Masakata Morizono, Yuto Muramatsu y Maharu Yoshimura are other Japanese players in competition. Europe also will be in Tokyo. Patrick Franziska, Andrej Gacina, Tan Ruiwu, Adrien Mattenet, Emmanuel Lebesson Kirill Skachkov, Alexey Smirnov, Kristian Karlsson and Grigory Vlasov and Abdel-Kader Salifou are the Europeans in teh seeding list.
Feng Tianwei will look for her 3rd title in Japan, but Ai Fukuhara wants to emerge as champion to forget her absence from the 2014 World Team Championships. Kasumi Ishikawa is the second seed and will show how she led Japan to Tokyo 2014's final.
Other top seeds are Yu Mengyu, Sayaka Hirano, Li Fen, Hu Melek, Yuka Ishigaki, Yu Fu, Cheng I -Ching, Misaki Morizono, Lee I-Ching, Misako Wakamiya, Huang Yi-Hua, Yui Hamamoto and Chen Szu-Yu.
