Xu Xin & Chuang Chih Yuan Into The Qatar Open Finals (VIDEOS)

After all his teammates have gone out of the competition, Xu Xin is the only hope for Chinese victory and in the semifinals, he didn't fail. He ended the momentum of the South Korean Cho Eon Rae who has been quite a revelation in the competition. In the upper half of the draw, Chuang Chih Yuan had his smart play overcoming his younger teammate Chen Chien An for the other seat in the finals.

ITTF. The 2014 Super Series Qatar Open has reached its final day of competition and before the concluding matters, players fought for the semifinals. In the end, Xu Xin and Chaung Chih Yuan will be in the final stage.

Two men from the Chinese Taipei Team ruled the upper half of the draw. Chuang Chih Yuan, the veteran against the rookie Chen Chien An. In terms of experience, the former has an edge but Chen Chien An is no newbie in international competition, plus, his stamina is at tis peak.

Chen Chien An got the opening set and had a set point advantage, 10-8 in the second. But Chuang Chih Yuan wanted to cut his deficit. He scored four straight points to level things in 1-1. That recovery somehow changed the tone of the match giving more favour to the more experienced player. This time, it is the intelligent play of Chuang Chih Yuan that has been earning control.

Chen Chien An, in all fairness, wasn't that far behind. He managed to stay close and occasionally had some nice rallies. But in the sixth set, his chances were slim and he was not able to open up more for himself. Chuang Chih Yuan will go the the finals with 8-11, 12-10, 11-6, 7-11, 11-1,, 11-4.

As the last Chinese man standing in the competition, Xu Xin fought against Cho Eon Rae in the lower half of the draw for a place in the finals. In assessment, Cho Eon Rae has been quite a revelation in this competition. He first ousted the third seed Fan Zhendong and then had his teammate Joo Sae Hyuk as his second victim.

Knowing what he's done, Xu Xin must have felt quite threaten especially when the South Korean adversary gained momentum in the opening set. Not wanting to give up the first advantage, Xu Xin answered the challenge very well and snatched the first game.

As expected, the Chinese player didn't like the close encounter. Xu Xin overwhelmed Cho Eon Rae in the second game giving him just one point. Eventually, the match slowly slipped away from the South Korean contender. He found himself in a 0-3 deficit.

Despite the uncontrollable opponent, Cho Eon Rae did not give up fighting. Its just that his efforts were still not enough to defeat a bigger Chinese name. Xu Xin finished the match with 12-10, 11-1, 11-9, 11-6.
